In case you haven't seen it yet, one of the most heartwrenching stories to come out of the disaster Japan so far is about a dog who will not leave the side of his injured friend, as captured by a news crew:

Word on the street is that both dogs have been rescued and are being cared for.
I have nothing profound to be said about this tragedy. My heart goes out to the people and animals of Japan. I cannot imagine.
